Meadow on the outskirts

A meadow on the outskirts of Almstorf, designed as a stopover in nature. There is no electricity, and water supply and disposal facilities are also lacking; the entrance is a good four meters wide. In return, it gets really dark at night; in clear weather, the starry sky shines above the meadow. All around, village and fields, with plenty of paths for long cycling tours through the Lüneburger Heide. Shopping is two kilometers away in Himbergen. Bad Bevensen is eight kilometers away, where the iodine brine thermal bath steams away. In the morning: dew on the grass.1

Sights in the area1

Jod-Sole-Therme Bad Bevensen

Warm brine pools in the spa town, eight kilometres away. The plan for days when the bike ride drowns in rain.

Treetrek Kletterwald Bad Bevensen

One of Germany's largest climbing parks by area, set right in the forest. Half a day goes by easily there, and children last longer than expected.

Lüneburger Heide

Heathland and pine woods all around, sandy tracks in between. In August the heather turns purple, and the routes stay flat enough for any bike.

Hamburg

The Hanseatic city lies around 69 kilometres away, with its harbour and the Außenalster. Enough for a day trip, or two.
