Meadow in a clearing in the Franconian Lake District
A meadow at the forest edge near Wolframs-Eschenbach, peaceful and somewhat secluded. It's not always completely quiet though. Depending on the season, work is carried out on the neighbouring fields, and freshly felled wood lies at the timber yard. In the morning it smells of spruce resin. Supermarket, bakery and butcher are located in nearby villages, two to six kilometres away. The bathing lakes of Fränkisches Seenland are around twenty minutes away, including Brombachsee and Altmühlsee.1

Sights in the area1
Brombachsee
The largest lake in the Franconian Lake District, created as a water reservoir. Sandy beaches, sailboats, a loop trail for cycling. The go-to spot on hot days, about twenty minutes away.
Altmühlsee
A shallow lake with a bird island on the western shore, full of migrating birds in spring. The loop trail is flat enough for any bike, and binoculars belong in the bag.
Cadolzburg
A hefty Hohenzollern castle above the town, now a hands-on museum about courtly life. Toward Fürth, the rainy-day tip when the lakes are off the table.
