Holsteinische Schweiz · Blekendorf

Meadow between forest and horse paddock

A pitch in Hohwachter Bucht, attached to a farmstead near Blekendorf. It's a two-minute drive to Sehlendorfer and Hohwachter beach. Rural peace and quiet all around. In the morning, birdsong fills the fields, then not much happens. It's five kilometers to Lütjenburg with its shops. If you're traveling with children, stop by the donkey and country play farm in Nessendorf. A simple site, but you're close to the sea.1

What VanSite writes

„The pitch is located in the Hohwachter Bucht, just two minutes' drive from both Sehlendorfer Strand and Hohwachter Strand. Other leisure facilities such as Fillippos Erlebnisgarten or the Esel und Landspielhof in Nessendorf are also easily accessible.“

Sights in the area1

Hohwacht Bay

The shallow Baltic bay with the sandy beaches of Sehlendorf and Hohwacht; when the wind blows onshore the surf picks up — the swimming spot just around the corner.

Great Plön Lake

The largest lake of the Holstein Switzerland, inland to the southwest. From Plön the Five-Lakes cruise runs across the connected lakes, a whole afternoon on the water.

Eutin Castle

The moated castle of the Dukes of Oldenburg on the edge of Eutin, with palace gardens and lake views. The rainy-day pick when the coastal wind blows too hard.

Kiel

The state capital on the fjord, a good 34 kilometres west. Ferry port, the Hörn and Kiel Week in June; a city day between two beach days.
