Holiday on the Organic Farm
A small organic farm in Chorin/Serwest, right in the middle of the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve. Organic fields and fruit meadows surround the farm, and hoopoes nest nearby. During the day, the meadows hum with life; in the evenings, it becomes peaceful. The farm is family-run and manageable; there is space for motorhomes, caravans and tents. The bathing lake in the village is five minutes away by bike. There is plenty to see in the area: Chorin Monastery, the Brodowin Ecovillage. A biblical garden grows on the farm.1

A brick-Gothic monastery ruin in the woods, in summer a stage for the Choriner Musiksommer concerts. You can walk the grounds in an hour or two, a good stop in any weather.
Niederfinow Boat Lift
The historic boat lift hoists whole cargo barges between canal and the Oder river. If you like machinery, the viewing platform gets you close, the classic outing for grey days.
Brodowin Eco-Village
A Demeter village with a farm shop and dairy; much of the region's milk and vegetables come from here. A short detour for anyone curious where breakfast grows.
Ziethen Geopark
An ice-age landscape of kettle holes and glacial erratics around Groß Ziethen; marked trails show how the glaciers shaped the land.
