Hammer a. d. Uecker

Hammer a.d. Uecker

A pitch at the edge of the forest in Hammer a. d. Uecker, on the host's private property. Water comes from the well, there's no further comfort: no shower, no toilet. In exchange, it stays quiet. Shopping is three kilometres away, the Haff coast is sixteen kilometres away. A cycle path leads from the property towards the Stettiner Haff, from there it's not far to the island of Usedom. In the mornings you mainly hear the forest, otherwise little else.1

Sights in the area1

Szczecin Lagoon

The shallow inland sea on the German-Polish border, warm and calm in summer. If the Baltic feels too rough, people swim here instead. About sixteen kilometres from the site.

Usedom

A Baltic island with long sandy beaches and the imperial spa towns of Ahlbeck and Heringsdorf. The wide beach is the go-to for a swimming day when the lagoon turns too still.

Ueckermünde

A little harbour town at the mouth of the Uecker, with a small old town and a wildlife park by the woods. The rainy-day option when the site gets too quiet.
