Manor Garden by the Lake - Mecklenburgische Seenplatte

On the old manor farm Blumenhagen near Blumenholz, campers are positioned fifty meters from the lake shore. At the water's edge, there's a jetty, and next to it a natural bathing spot. Anyone can take the rowboat, and the SUP as well. In the evenings, you hear little more than the water lapping at the jetty. You need to be self-sufficient. Dogs, groups, and tents are not permitted. Drinking water comes filtered from the tap, and the fire pit is shared by all. It's six kilometers to Neustrelitz, and the Müritz-Nationalpark surrounds you on both sides.1

Sights in the area1

Müritz National Park

Blumenhagen sits between the park's two sections. Beech forest and lakes, cranes overhead in autumn. Walks start without a long drive first.

Neustrelitz Harbour

Six kilometres away on Lake Zierker, with passenger boats and a quayside promenade. An easy bike ride from the site, shopping in the old residence town included.

Helpter Berg Summit Cross

The highest point in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, a low rise with a cross and a view across the fields. The trip for days when the lake gets too busy.

Berlin

Some 102 kilometres south. The Brandenburg Gate and the Wall cycle path along the Teltow Canal fill a long day when the weather by the lake gives nothing.
