Fruit meadow behind North Sea dike
An orchard meadow near Tetenbüll on Eiderstedt, sheltered behind the dike from the North Sea wind. Sheep graze on the dike crest nearby, fields and pastures all around. The pitch is a cleared area surrounded by swaying grass and old apple trees; in spring they are in bloom. The ground is level. With persistent rain it becomes soft — then sand boards or four-wheel drive help. St. Peter-Ording beach is a day trip away, the peninsula can be explored by bike.1
