Country idyll on the site of an old remnant farm
A parking spot on the grounds of an old farmstead near Dorsten. You'll enjoy a peaceful stay here, even though the motorway is less than five minutes away. A walkable steel pyramid on a Bottrop slag heap, about ten kilometres away; the stairs open up a view across half the Ruhr region, best on a clear day.
Halde Haniel
A man-made mining heap near Bottrop with a Stations-of-the-Cross path and a ring of painted totem poles; up top you stand above the region's chimneys, good for sunset.
