A World Heritage site above Kassel, about eleven kilometres away. In summer the water features cascade downhill, with the Hercules statue at the top. Plan half a day for a visit.
Hercules Monument
The copper statue on the terraces of the Wilhelmshöhe grounds, visible for miles across Kassel. A good vantage point and the starting point of the cascades into the valley.
Silbersee
A bathing lake in the Habichtswald area, the go-to spot for an afternoon by the water when the woods at the site grow too quiet.
