A baroque city on the Main, about 43 kilometres away. Its Residence is a Unesco World Heritage site, and the way there runs through Franconian wine country. A day barely covers it.
Steigerwald
A wooded ridge south of the Main, laced with hiking and cycling trails. The beeches turn in autumn, and the forest stays a good plan even in the rain.
Main Cycle Path
The Main runs flat through Lower Franconia, and the cycle path follows it from village to village. Anyone who dislikes climbs gets far here without breaking a sweat.
