Hude-Wüsting

Camping in Oldenburg country

Three pitches in a garden in Hude-Wüsting, in Oldenburger Land. In the morning, the chickens scratch around next to your tent, and the vegetable garden begins behind it. Cattle or horses belonging to the tenant graze in the meadows, and a tractor putters past every now and then. For children, there's a swing and a go-kart ready to use – bring a ball. The farm shop sells eggs and homemade jam, and fresh bread rolls available on request. It's seven kilometers to Oldenburg, mostly via cycle paths. In the evening: sunset over the meadow.1

What Hinterland writes

You'll be camping next to our chickens, directly neighbouring our vegetable garden and green meadows.“

Sights in the area1

Oldenburg

The old town with its palace and Lamberti church, seven kilometres away and easy to reach by bike. The palace garden is good for a lazy afternoon.

Wildeshauser Geest

Sandy geest landscape with heath and old megalithic tombs south of Hude. A dense cycle network, flat enough for long rides.

Bremen

Town hall and Roland are World Heritage; in front of them stand the Bremen Town Musicians in bronze. The Schnoor quarter with its narrow lanes is the rainy-day classic.
