Camping at the lake Deulowitz
At Deulowitzer See near Schenkendöbern, eleven hectares of water, eight metres deep. Pine and deciduous forest all around. The sandy beach is fine-grained, the water clear enough for three stars. People come from far and wide for a swim. The residents of Guben call the lake their bathtub; in the morning it lies still until the first swimmers venture into the cold water. The campsite sits right on the shore. If you fancy it, you can cycle from here along the Neiße, following the Polish border.1

This twin town straddles the Neisse: German Guben on one side, Polish Gubin on the other. Cross the bridge and you're abroad in minutes, good for a stroll with a border crossing.
Oder-Neisse Cycle Path
The long-distance route follows the Neisse north to the Oder, flat and mostly along the water. From the lake it makes an easy day ride with no real climbs.
Branitz Park, Cottbus
