Camping at the lake Eixendorf
A terraced site on the shore of Eixendorfer Lake, just outside Neunburg vorm Wald. From the upper rows, your gaze sweeps across the water, and mornings often see mist hovering over the reservoir dam. All around, meadows and forest of the Upper Palatinate, plus hiking and cycling trails that pass by the site. Quiet and family-friendly. The Waldnaab Valley with its log cabin is a nice excursion away, and Nuremberg lies a good 95 kilometers further west.1

Sights in the area1
Waldnaab Valley
Nature reserve along the Waldnaab river with moss-covered granite blocks and narrow paths. The Blockhütte inn deep in the valley is the stop for a long hiking day.
Butterfass
Stacked rock formation in the Waldnaab valley that gives the trail its name. A short goal that works with kids too.
Nuremberg
About 95 kilometres west, with the imperial castle above the roofs and tight old-town lanes. The city day when the lake runs out of plans.
