Campground in Nuremberg
A piece of garden in Nuremberg, two and a half by two and a half metres – that's all the tent space available. The S-Bahn Katzwang stops right next door, and it's just a few minutes to the Main-Danube Canal. You'll notice the road during the day, but it gets quiet in the evening. The host explicitly does not provide toilet, water or electricity – plan accordingly. Hikers and cyclists are welcome. Dogs are not. It's eleven kilometres to Nuremberg's old town.1

Sights in the area1
Main-Danube Canal
The waterway linking the Main and the Danube, with a cycle path running alongside; the obvious evening loop from the tent pitch.
Nuremberg Old Town
Imperial castle, city walls and the Pegnitz river in the middle of town, eleven kilometres away; the S-Bahn next door makes it the rainy-day plan.
Bitterbach Gorge
A narrow stream valley east of Nuremberg, following boardwalks past small waterfalls; the short walk is best after a spell of rain.
