Camp with peace, idyll & panoramic view

A camping meadow above Windisch-Bockenfeld, a hamlet with around 30 residents in Hohenlohe-Franconia, less than an hour's drive from Würzburg. Caravans and vans park on the meadow or on the gravel strip, with electricity and water connections available. In the evening, the sun sets over the fields, and a swing hangs at the meadow's edge, overlooking the countryside. There's no toilet, but plenty of space and open views. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is just ten minutes away by car, and cycle paths lead directly through the village.1

Rothenburg ob der Tauber

The town wall can be walked almost all the way round, behind it the half-timbered lanes crowd together. A half-day trip, ten minutes by car per the host.

Liebliches Taubertal

The cycle path follows the river Tauber downstream, past wine villages and old mills. Flat stages, good for a full day in the saddle.

Röttingen

A small wine town in the Tauber valley with a string of sundials on its houses. A quiet stop along the bike ride.

Würzburg

About 49 km away, on the river Main: the Residenz with its grand staircase and the Old Main Bridge. The place to go when you do want a city.
