Ralswiek

Blockhouse Störtebeker

A garden in Ralswiek, framed by old trees, three pitches for motorhomes, caravans or tents. It is peaceful. Only in the evening, when the Störtebeker Festival begins at the open-air theatre, does the wind sometimes carry music over. It's a twenty-minute walk from there. There are no sanitary facilities, but there is electricity on site and water from a hose at the house. A small playground is available for children. If you fancy it, ask Johanna and Daniel about a kayak or sailing boat.1

Sights in the area1

Jasmund National Park

Chalk cliffs at the Königsstuhl above the Baltic, plus ancient beech forests with World Heritage status. The clifftop panorama path pays off most on clear days.

Binz seaside resort

White spa-town villas, a long pier and a broad sand beach; the classic choice for a beach day or a rainy-day stroll under the arcades.

Cape Arkona

Rügen's northern tip with two lighthouses and the remains of a Slavic fort; an afternoon is enough for the towers and the cliff line.

Rostock

The Hanseatic city lies about 91 km away, with brick Gothic on the Neuer Markt and a working harbour; a good fallback port for a rainy day.
