AlpacaCamping 94

A parking spot in the middle of an equestrian farm near Bispingen, quickly accessible from the A7. In the morning it smells of straw and horses, then there's clattering in the stables before the bread wagon arrives. Marianne runs the farm; the farm shop stocks local goods. Facilities: simple, but clean. All around is the Lüneburger Heide, and it's not far to Pietzmoor or Totengrund. Hamburg is about 48 kilometers away via the motorway.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„Very easily accessible from the A7. Cozy pitches in the middle of the equestrian facility. Marianne is very friendly and we felt very comfortable. Toilets and showers are simple but clean. Roll service and farm shop with regional products.“

Sights in the area1

Pietzmoor

The largest bog on the Lüneburg Heath near Schneverdingen, with a boardwalk looping through the dark water. Dragonflies in summer, mist in autumn — the walk for grey days.

Totengrund

A hollow in the heath near Wilsede, ringed by juniper and low hills. In late August the basin turns purple; the classic spot to catch the heather in bloom.

Brunsberg

One of the higher rises on the Lüneburg Heath; from the ridge you look out over juniper and pines. A short loop with a good view across the heath.

Hamburg

About 48 kilometres north lies Hamburg; a day around the Außenalster is easy to fill when the heath gets too quiet.
