Fleischwangen

AlpacaCamping 811

A parking spot near Fleischwangen in Oberschwaben, where two roads pass by — that doesn't bring much traffic, at most a tractor rolls by occasionally. Otherwise: peace and quiet. At night it's worth looking up, the sky is dark enough for stargazing. It's a bit of a drive to Lake Constance with the Pile Dwelling Museum in Unteruhldingen, and about 65 kilometers to Ulm with its cathedral. If you come here, you should expect little entertainment.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„Great pitch. I was initially unsure about the two roads right next to the site. But hardly anyone drives past, maybe just a tractor now and then. Quiet and relaxing. Perfect for stargazing :)“

Sights in the area1

Unteruhldingen Pile Dwelling Museum

Open-air museum on the shore of Lake Constance with reconstructed Stone and Bronze Age pile dwellings, on stilts in the shallow water. The trip when a whole day needs filling.

Lake Constance

The large lake in the tri-border corner, good for swimming and a boat trip between the shores. The obvious day tour from the site in warm weather.

Ulm Minster

About 65 kilometres north, Ulm Minster stands with what counts as the tallest church spire in the world. Climb the stairs and you see as far as the Alps on a clear day.
