AlpacaCamping 642

A working farm in Hille: the orchard is right in the middle of the grounds, not tucked away at a quiet edge. In the mornings the barn clatters, the cows make themselves heard. Not a silent retreat. With the electricity, the junior helped at the pitch; farm dog Parker greets every arrival. Hiking boots are worth it: the Große Torfmoor is nearby, perfect for a long day as long as it's not 35 degrees shimmering over the wooden boardwalks. It's around 40 kilometres to Bielefeld with its Tierpark Olderdissen.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„Sure, work does happen here and the fruit meadow isn't idyllically located far outside but right in the middle of the farmyard. However, the stable noises and the lowing of the cows didn't bother me.“

A wide raised bog near Hille with boardwalks and viewing towers; cranes rest here in spring. The trip for a long hiking day, when the sun isn't beating down.

Tierpark Olderdissen

The wildlife park on the edge of Bielefeld, around 40 kilometres away, shows native species from wolf to wild horse. The family standby for grey days.

Steinhuder Meer

The largest lake in north-west Germany, with lidos and the island fortress Wilhelmstein off the shore. A full day by the water, good with children.
