Bischofsgrün

AlpacaCamping 555

A pitch near Bischofsgrün, in the heart of the Fichtelgebirge. The site reveals little — all that's known is that two quiet nights in beautiful surroundings are possible here, and that's all there is to say about it. Space for tents, motorhomes and caravans. The landscape takes care of the rest: all around, the land rises toward the Ochsenkopf, mornings often see mist hanging in the spruces. From the village, paths lead to the Weißmainfelsen, where the Weiße Main begins as a narrow trickle.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

Sights in the area1

Weißmainfelsen

Granite crag on the eastern flank of the Ochsenkopf, right beside the source of the White Main. Short climb, open view across the Fichtelgebirge from the top.

Ochsenkopf

At 1024 metres the second-highest peak in the Fichtelgebirge, right above Bischofsgrün. A ski slope in winter, otherwise the starting point for the walk to the summit.

Felsenlabyrinth Luisenburg

A tangle of huge granite blocks near Wunsiedel, with a marked path scrambling through them. Doable with kids on dry days.
