Loiching

AlpacaCamping 39

A parking spot among the chickens, on the edge of Loiching in the Lower Bavarian Isar valley. The host lets you arrive in peace; if you stay in the evening, you'll mainly hear the clucking from the enclosure next door and not much else. There's a story about a camper whose vehicle wouldn't start in the evening. Instead of a shrug, the offer came to simply stay longer, plus something to eat and drink. That's the kind of place this is. Ingolstadt is about eighty kilometers away, and the Isar is right next door.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„We spent a night at this beautiful parking spot with the chickens. We enjoyed the day and night in complete peace and quiet. The hosts were very friendly.“

Sights in the area1

Ingolstadt

The old ducal town on the Danube, about 78 kilometres west: old-town lanes, the Klenzepark and museums. The pick for a rainy day or a long afternoon.

Isar Valley

The Isar runs right past Loiching. Flat cycle paths follow the river through floodplain woods and past gravel banks, good for a half-day ride with no climbing.

Bavarian Forest

Further east the wooded uplands begin; in summer the Geißkopf is a bike mountain with lifts and ridge trails at the top. A day trip, not a quick hop.
