AlpacaCamping 2338
Söhrewald, less than fifteen kilometers from Kassel: the host won't reveal more than a meadow and a gravel lot. He's rarely there. You can also get your pitch assigned over the phone, with gravel crunching under your tires. Those who come should be prepared for little comfort and little entertainment. The actual destination is in Kassel anyway: Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with the Hercules towering over the city. Otherwise, you need to bring what you need yourself.1
What AlpacaCamping writes
„Our host was not on-site.
Unfortunately we couldn't park on the meadow as he assigned us the gravel pitch over the phone.“

Sights in the area1
Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe
The baroque hillside park above Kassel, about 15 kilometres away and a World Heritage Site. On set days the water features tumble down the cascades to the aqueduct; a full day out.
Herkules
The copper statue crowns the very top of the Bergpark. The climb pays off for the view over Kassel and the surrounding hills; there is almost always a wind up here.
Silbersee
A flooded quarry in the Habichtswald west of Kassel, the water deep blue. The place to swim on hot days when the Bergpark gets too crowded.
