AlpacaCamping 2238

A well-maintained farm in Salzhausen, with pitches situated beneath old oaks. In the mornings, birdsong in the leaves. Otherwise it's peaceful and quiet. The owner helps with parking if your caravan gets stuck. The riding arena is right next door, and the forest swimming pool is just a few minutes away. Many places are accessible by bike, flat enough for the whole family. If you want to venture further, cycle into the heath to Brunsberg or to Pietzmoor. Hamburg is around 38 kilometres away.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„It was a wonderful stay under the oak trees... The owner was very, very kind and his son was also very helpful and would have even parked my caravan for me. A very well-maintained farm and close to the tournament grounds!“

Sights in the area1

Pietzmoor

The largest raised bog in the Lüneburg Heath, near Schneverdingen; a boardwalk keeps your feet dry through peat and cotton grass, the quiet loop for a cool morning.

Totengrund

A basin valley ringed by heathland near Wilsede; in late August the whole bowl turns purple, the classic spot for a photo walk across the heath.

Außenalster

The big lake in the middle of Hamburg, about 38 kilometres away; a path circles the water while sailing boats drift past — the city day when rain greys out the heath.
