A forest path through a small wood near Zachenberg in the Bavarian Forest, with a small indentation that's supposed to be the parking spot. During our visit, several gravel piles were stored there, leaving no space for a camper. A few metres behind it, the railway line runs past. When we asked, we got no response. We drove on. Honestly, there's not much more to say about the spot. The area, however, has a lot to offer: the Rißloch waterfall and Geißkopf are located in the same Bavarian Forest.1

A local mountain with a bike park and chairlifts near Bischofsmais; in summer riders take the flow trails down, in winter it turns to skiing. The pick for active days.
Kötztinger Hütte
A staffed mountain hut on the Kaitersberg, the goal of a day hike along the ridge; the stop with its wide view over the forest is worth the climb.
