Wang

AlpacaCamping 2096

A spot near Wang, north of Munich, with views of the Alps. The hosts are known to be friendly; the description doesn't reveal much more than that. It's quiet here. Early risers will see the mountains rising above the horizon on clear days; you can buy organic eggs at the farm. All around lies the Hallertau, the world's largest hop-growing region. Munich is around 43 kilometers away, perfect for a day trip between the Isar and Olympiapark. Pitches available for tents, motorhomes, and caravans.1

Sights in the area1

Hallertau

The surrounding country is hop land. In late summer the cones hang from tall wire frames, and quiet cycle paths cross the fields, such as the stretch from Walkersbach to Kemathen.

Munich

Around 43 kilometres to the south lies the Bavarian capital. The Olympiapark with its lake and TV tower fills a day out, and the Isartrail leads along the river right into the centre.

Freising

The cathedral town of Freising, with its Domberg and the Weihenstephan brewery, said to be the world's oldest. An afternoon is enough for the old town and the hill.
