A simple pitch in Achtrup, in the far north of Schleswig-Holstein, just before the Danish border. It's located on a road where hardly a car passes during the day. At night it's quiet. The Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea is a UNESCO World Heritage site. At low tide you head out onto the bare mudflats with a guide — the outing for grey days.
Sylt Island
From Niebüll the car-train carries vehicles and campers across the Hindenburg causeway to Westerland. At the far end wait shifting dunes and the Rotes Kliff near Kampen — the classic day on the island.
Flensburg
The old harbour town on the fjord, close to the Danish border. The museum harbour and the town's rum history can be walked in one stroll through the old quarter — good for a rainy afternoon.
