AlpacaCamping 1521
A parking spot in Oberschwarzach, a village in the Steigerwald. The host doesn't say much; those who have stayed here once come back for the peace and quiet. Little to hear: silence. All around, the Naturpark Steigerwald with its beech forests and vineyards; it's a good 35 kilometres to Würzburg with its Residenz and the Main. Those who come here bring time for little activity and appreciate the silence as what truly matters here.1

Sights in the area1
Würzburg
The Residence is a Unesco World Heritage site, and on the Old Main Bridge people drink Franconian wine above the river. Around 35 kilometres away, a full day out.
Steigerwald Treetop Walk
Near Ebrach a wooden walkway leads up through the crowns of the old beech forest to a lookout tower; a good outing with kids and in mixed weather.
The Main Loop at Volkach
At Volkach the river Main makes a wide bend through the vineyards; the Vogelsburg above it and the Maria im Weingarten church are the classic cycling trip.
