Juigné-des-Moutiers

AlpacaCamping 1434

A site in Juigné-des-Moutiers, in the bocage of Pays de la Loire — the host reveals little more than that. One thing is certain: the contact is warm, and help is gladly given. Whoever comes pitches their tent or parks their caravan and takes the area as it is. Narrow country roads, quiet hamlets, in the evening the bleating of sheep from the pastures. Nantes and the Loire are a day trip to the west. Otherwise, little in the way of activities.1

Sights in the area1

Nantes

The former ducal city on the Loire, to the west of the area. The Castle of the Dukes of Brittany and the mechanical beasts of the Machines de l'île make the town day for wet weather.

Loire Valley

The lower Loire runs west toward the Atlantic. Cycle paths follow the river and the wine villages pour Muscadet — the classic day trip in fine weather.

Châteaubriant

A small castle town in the hinterland, named after its old château. The compact centre can be walked in an afternoon — an outing for grey days.
