AlpacaCamping 1312

A campsite in Nöda, less than ten kilometers outside Erfurt. Over Whitsunday, every pitch was occupied, and the weather held right through to the end. The pitches are well-maintained, and all around lies the peaceful countryside of the Thuringian Basin, more fields and farmland than hustle and bustle. At night, mainly the wind sweeps across the fields. If you want to see what Thuringia is all about, head into Erfurt's old town: the Severikirche, the ancient alleyways around it. In the evenings, it becomes quiet.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„We spent the long Whitsun weekend at the campground. The site was fully booked and we had wonderful weather. The location is excellent, the pitches are well-maintained, and the surrounding landscape is peaceful and beautiful. We'd love to come back.“

Sights in the area1

Erfurt Old Town

The old state capital sits about nine kilometres away: half-timbered houses, narrow lanes and plenty of cobblestones. The town stroll for days when the weather at the site won't cooperate.

Cathedral and St Severus

On the Domberg the cathedral and St Severus church stand close together, visible far across the rooftops. From the wide staircase in front you look over half the old town.

Krämerbrücke

The bridge over the Gera, lined with half-timbered houses, is Erfurt's landmark. Small workshops run its whole length, roofed over even in drizzle.
