AlpacaCamping 1237

The host reveals little, so there's not much more to say here either: a pitch at Frank's in Dürrröhrsdorf-Dittersbach, for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Guests left satisfied and wanted to stay longer next time. The surrounding area does the rest. It's 16 kilometres to Dresden, and to the east of that begins the sandstone of Saxon Switzerland, with Bastei and the Malerweg. There's little to know about the pitch itself.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„Many thanks to our host Frank. We were very satisfied with the pitch and the facilities. Next time we'll stay a few days longer to explore the beautiful surroundings.“

Sights in the area1

Bastei

This rock bridge above the Elbe valley is one of the most photographed spots in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains; arrive early and the walkway is nearly empty.

Königstein Fortress

A hilltop fortress above the Elbe that was never taken. Walk the ramparts and you look down on the table mountains of Saxon Switzerland.

Malerweg

The painters' trail runs through the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in several stages; single sections work well as a day hike.

Dresden

About 16 kilometres away: the Fürstenzug made of Meissen porcelain, plus the Blue Wonder bridge over the Elbe. The obvious call when the sandstone is wet.
