AlpacaCamping 1086

An equestrian farm near Bissingen, the parking area is right next to the horse paddock. Plenty of space, little activity. Visitors are free to roam the grounds; children can help out in the stable, and riding is available for a small fee. Electric hookup is available, though only with a long cable. In the morning you hear the horses snorting in the paddock, otherwise it stays quiet. Nördlingen with the Daniel tower overlooking the old town is worth a day trip, and it's 48 kilometers to Augsburg.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„We spent 2 nights at the Reiterhof. The site is very spacious and peacefully located, right next to the horse paddock. We received a warm welcome and were able to move freely around the entire grounds.“

Sights in the area1

Nördlingen town wall

The fully walkable wall around the old town takes about an hour to circle; from up there you look across the roofs and out into the Ries basin.

Daniel tower

The 90-metre tower of St. George's, reached by a steep spiral staircase. From the top the round shape of the Ries crater becomes visible.

Ries Crater Museum

Tells how a meteorite blasted out the Ries 15 million years ago, moon rock included. The rainy-day standby of the area.

Augsburg

The Fugger city with its historic water management sits 48 kilometres away; the canals and the Hochablass weir on the Lech fill a long afternoon.
