Lake Dwelling Museum Unteruhldingen
The Lake Dwelling Museum is a museum for prehistory and early history. It was founded in 1884 by Professor Dr. Wilhelm Witte, who was director of the Roman-Germanic Central Museum in Mainz for many years. He wanted to create an open-air museum on Lake Constance with replicas of pile dwellings from the Stone Age to show how people lived before they learned to build houses of stone or brick.
