Teutoburg Forest
The wooded ridge runs past to the north. Along its crest goes the Hermannsweg, one of North Rhine-Westphalia's best-known long-distance trails. A single day stage is enough.
The Senne
Nearby the Senne begins, a broad heath and sand landscape at the edge of the Teutoburg Forest. Juniper, sandy tracks, and somewhere here the river Ems rises. One for long bike rides.
