Geisenfeld

AlpacaCamping 1339

A piece of meadow just outside Geisenfeld, far enough from the village to have some peace and quiet. The owner has set up a fireplace with a bench and table, firewood is ready to use, and there's a donation box beside it. In the evening the fire crackles, otherwise there's not much going on. The composting toilet is situated a bit away. All around is the Hallertau, the world's largest hop-growing region. In the morning, mainly bird calls. It's about 25 kilometers to Ingolstadt.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

It's somewhat secluded from the village, so you can enjoy some peace and quiet. The owner has set up a fireplace with seating and a table. Firewood was also available on site (donation box).“

Sights in the area1

Walkersbach – Kemathen Trail

A well-kept path through the Hallertau, part of the AAR section. Flat and shaded enough for a quiet afternoon on foot or by bike.

Maria Hilf Pilgrimage Chapel

A small pilgrimage chapel nearby, a short detour when you're already out among the hop fields.

Ingolstadt

About 25 km away, the nearest larger town on the Danube with an old centre and museums. The go-to for a rainy day or the weekly shop.
