A meadow on the edge of Bohmte, north of Osnabrück. The ground handles rain well; during a changeable Whitsun weekend, the field remained passable. If you bring a longer motorhome, you'll maneuver back and forth briefly, then it'll be parked. In the mornings the grass smells of the damp night; the owners come by for a few words. It's about 20 kilometers to Osnabrück. In the other direction lie the heights of the Wiehengebirge with the Nonnenstein. You don't need much entertainment here.1

The Peace City lies about 20 kilometres away. The Peace of Westphalia was negotiated here in 1648, and the town hall displays the envoys' portraits. A city day without a long drive.
Nonnenstein and Bismarck Tower
A ridge in the Wiehengebirge with the Nonnenstein hill and a Bismarck tower. A wide view over the lowlands from the top, and the climb stays short. Good for a dry afternoon.
Dümmer
One of Lower Saxony's larger lakes, northeast of Bohmte. Shallow water, sailing boats, and migrating birds along the east shore in spring. The trip for windy days.
