Falkenberg

AlpacaCamping 5049

A farm near Falkenberg in the Rottal region of Lower Bavaria, where the host keeps alpacas and ponies. Guests arriving in the evening are welcome to visit the animals; during the day you can groom the ponies. A WC is available at the café, usable after a brief chat. Fresh rolls are available in the morning on request, otherwise it remains peaceful between the paddocks. No program, but plenty of quiet. It's around 96 kilometers to Munich, and an early start is enough for a day trip to the Isar.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„Lovely welcome from the host, she showed us and the children all her alpacas and ponies in the evening. There's a toilet at the café which you can use after asking. Fresh rolls service in the morning if needed. We were allowed to groom the ponies.“

Sights in the area1

Geißkopf

A mountain in the Bavarian Forest, in summer a draw for mountain bikers with its flow trails, in winter a small ski area. A day trip to the northeast when the farm gets too quiet.

Rißloch Falls near Bodenmais

The Rißloch Falls rank among the highest waterfalls in the Bavarian Forest; the upper walkway leads through a narrow gorge. A rainy day is no reason to stay in.

Olympiapark München

The grounds of the 1972 Games, with their tented roof and the Olympic Tower, make for a good city day; about 96 kilometres to the west.
