Miltenberg

Meadow at the Farm | p2

A parking spot at the end of Monbrunn, where the road ends and no traffic comes through. A maximum of three motorhomes stand on the level meadow, with sun and shade in between. Electricity available on request, otherwise little in the way of amenities. Hiking trails start right in front of the meadow, up to Haagsaussicht and on to Gotthardsruine. The Nibelungensteig passes directly by. A one-and-a-half-hour walk to Miltenberg with its half-timbered alleys. Mornings: bird songs over the meadow.1

Sights in the area1

Felsenmeer

Felsenmeer in the Odenwald: a slope covered in huge granite boulders you can clamber over. Traces of Roman stonemasons lie between them, a spot for kids and climbers.

Margarethenschlucht

One of the deepest gorges in the Odenwald, where a brook drops over red sandstone. The climb up is steep and pays off after rain, when the water roars.

Miltenberg Old Town

Half-timbered houses line the river Main, with Mildenburg castle above. A stroll for the afternoon, good even in changeable weather.
