Allgäu · Kißlegg

Forest and meadow edge of the Wolfegger Ach

Five kilometers outside of Kißlegg, at the edge of a farmyard between forest and meadows. The pitch catches morning and evening sun, and shade under the trees is available for hot days. A stream runs through the grounds, cold enough for cooling off. Next door a sawmill, which the family only operates as a sideline these days. Cats roam the farmyard, and two female dogs too. No one parks more than three campers here. No campfires at the moment. Kißlegg bears castles and lakes in its name, and the Württemberg Allgäu begins just beyond the meadow.1

Narrow gorge in the Oberallgäu crossed by a footbridge; a longer day trip south, the classic for cool, loud water routes.
