Campsite in the heart of Neuseenland Leipzig

An enclosed property in the Leipziger Neuseenland, on a small river where you can paddle by canoe towards Leipzig. Meadows, trees, hedges. Surrounded by forest and floodplain. The site accommodates motorhomes and trailers up to eight meters, with room for no more than two. You're welcome to use an old half-timbered cottage, complete with a wood-burning stove and built-in bench. The Cospudener See is a five-minute walk away, and a restaurant with outdoor seating is another two hundred meters further on. Water in the evenings, birdsong in the floodplains at dawn.1

Sights in the area1

Cospuden Lake

A flooded former open-cast mine in the Leipzig Neuseenland, with a sandy beach on the north shore and a loop trail for cycling. Within walking distance of the site, the quick dip on hot days.

Leipzig Riparian Forest

One of central Europe's largest floodplain forests, reaching right into Leipzig. Shady bike loops when it's hot; in spring the ground smells of wild garlic.

Belantis

A large amusement park south of Leipzig with roller coasters and themed worlds. The day the kids get to set the agenda.

Markkleeberg & Störmthal Lakes

Two more lakes of the Neuseenland, flooded from old mining pits. Sailing boats, swimming beaches, and the floating church Vineta on the Störmthal shore.
