Pitch air mill
A meadow outside Weischlitz OT Rodersdorf in the Saxon Vogtland, bordered by a stream and old trees. Space for five or six campers; when wet, the unpaved ground becomes muddy—the hosts themselves are honest about this. The farm shop stocks cold-pressed oils and flours from the mill, and bread on baking days. This is a place where people live and build, sometimes with firewood lying about. Plauen is not far away. In the evening: the sound of the stream.1

Sights in the area1
Bleiloch Reservoir
Germany's largest reservoir by volume, dammed on the Saale. Excursion boats and swimming spots make it a full day out.
Höllental Gorge
A narrow rocky gorge with a hiking trail running through it; the shaded floor by the stream works even on hot Vogtland summer days.
Burgk Castle
A baroque castle high above the Saale, with a museum and a wide view into the valley; an afternoon covers the castle and the loop walk.
