Pitch Halde

The Halde parking area is located in the middle of the vineyards near Schliengen, close to the wine village of Mauchen. From here, the view extends all the way to France, and the sunsets over the landscape invite you to linger. The surrounding wineries, including Weingut Sommerhalter right on site, are just as worth visiting as hikes and bike tours through the Rhine Valley. A detour to the Black Forest with its waterfalls at Triberg or on the Sankenbach is also worthwhile. You can reach Freiburg im Breisgau with the Schauinsland in around 29 kilometers.¹
