Pitch on the meadow by the small thatched cottage

A small meadow near Scharnebeck where you stand alone, with no neighbors in sight. If you like, you can cycle to Lüneburg or to the Elbe in just over half an hour; both are about equally far away. In the evening, the hosts heat up the wood sauna with views over the open fields, and there's an outdoor shower available. One thing upfront: In June, July and August and after long dry spells, the sauna remains closed. Peace and quiet prevail instead.1

What Hinterland writes

„Our pitch is idyllically situated on a small meadow. Here you stand alone. If you're looking for peace, plenty of nature and relaxation, you've come to the right place!

From here you can cycle wonderfully to Lüneburg, or to the Elbe.“

Sights in the area1

Lüneburg

An old salt town with brick gables and crooked houses; the Alter Kran at the harbour recalls the trade in white gold. A good half hour away by bike, the classic day out for a stroll.

Elbe

The big river to the east, a good half hour away by bike. The Elbe cycle path runs along the bank, with sandy spots for swimming and freighters drifting slowly past.

Lüneburg Heath

The real heath begins further west. When it blooms in August the Totengrund near Wilsede turns violet, an outing that fills a whole day.

Hamburg

Hamburg lies around 46 km away. The Außenalster opens up in the middle of the city, and its lakeside path makes a fine Sunday walk in any weather.
