Pitch on the outskirts of the village with a wide view
A meadow at the edge of Erlinghausen, a district of Marsberg in the Hochsauerland region. The view stretches far across the fields, and the spot is accessible via a country lane. Maneuvering is only permitted at the row of trees, otherwise the meadow will suffer. There are no facilities: those who come here are self-sufficient, carrying water and everything else they need with them. The Diemelradweg cycle path is nearby, it's 19 kilometers to Diemelsee and 30 kilometers to Willingen. In the evening, the wide view remains. Otherwise, little entertainment.1

Sights in the area1
Diemelsee
The reservoir sits 19 kilometres away, in the middle of its own nature park. Good for swimming and paddling, with a shore path for a bike loop — the region's classic day by the water.
Willingen
30 kilometres on in the Rothaargebirge, the region's winter-sports and bike town. Ski slope and skating in winter, hiking trails and a bike park in summer: the outing for active days in any weather.
Edersee
40 kilometres on in the Waldeck region, one of Hesse's big reservoirs. A path runs across the massive dam; when the water drops, the sunken villages reappear on the lakebed.
