Pitch on the outskirts in the beautiful Unterallgäu
A shared pitch on the outskirts of Kettershausen in the Unterallgäu, quiet and close to nature. Small circular walking trails lead off from the pitch, with benches along the way. Just a few minutes' walk to the Kneipp facility or the bathing pond with grassy sunbathing area; in the village centre there's a small café and a bakery. Bird songs in the morning, otherwise little activity. It's around 32 kilometres to Ulm with its minster. If you fancy it, you can paddle barefoot in the cold water of the Kneipp pool.1

Ulm
About 32 kilometres away, the nearest sizeable city: Ulm Minster carries the tallest church tower in the world, with a wide view over the Danube from the top.
Blautopf spring near Blaubeuren
A deep-blue karst spring in Blaubeuren west of Ulm, backed by an old monastery; a short trip that pays off even in dull weather.
Breitachklamm gorge
A deep rock gorge in the southern Allgäu, noticeably further towards the mountains; the Zwingsteg footbridge spans the roaring water. A day trip, not a quick hop.
