Sunny overnight accommodation in pony meadow
An enclosed pony meadow near Bohmte, in the back part of the garden, slightly off to the side between Hunteburg and Schwagstorf. The area faces south; horses from the farm sometimes graze next door. Wiehengebirge
A narrow ridge running towards the Weser. Hiking trails follow the wooded crests up top, with views over the plain. An outing for clear days.
Varus Battle near Kalkriese
This is thought to be the site of the Varus Battle. The museum in the park explains the Roman finds and pairs well with a walk across the grounds.
Osnabrück
