Lake view
A small private spot in the hosts' garden, overlooking the edge of Harkortsee between Wetter (Ruhr) and Herdecke. You hardly hear any traffic. Wildlife lives all around, otherwise it stays peaceful. There's an unsecured steep slope dropping down towards the lake — something to know about if you're traveling with children. Guests are welcome to use the grill and terrace. The RuhrtalRadweg runs past, along with the old railway lines of the Ruhr Valley and the Avalonia climbing area. It's eight kilometers to Hagen.1

Sights in the area1
Lake Harkort
Lake Harkort dams the river Ruhr between Wetter and Herdecke. A shore path runs almost all the way around, good for a loop before breakfast.
Ruhr Valley Cycle Route
The Ruhr Valley Cycle Route follows the river from source to mouth and passes right by here; flat and fully signposted, an easy day trip without a map.
Hagen
Hagen, a good eight kilometres away at the southern edge of the Ruhr area. The LWL open-air museum shows old workshops in the valley of hammers, a full day among forges and paper mills.
