Nature-oriented at Jubelitzsee

A just under eleven hectare natural area near Fahrland, just over four kilometres from Potsdam. Wooded areas, meadows, reeds and a small lake where swimming is not permitted. If you walk quietly and bring some time with you, you'll see birds of prey circling over the moor, where they also breed. There are no sanitary facilities; you take your rubbish with you. Beyond the gate, larger campers also stand on fairly compacted ground under trees. It's 500 metres to Fahrlander See. Horses and goats graze next door.1

Sights in the area1

Döberitzer Heide

A vast rewilded landscape west of Potsdam with bison and Przewalski's horses behind the fence; the Wüste rest stop and long sandy trails make it a full day's hike.

Fahrlander See

A shallow Havel lake about five hundred metres from the site, fringed with reeds; a quiet loop for a walk when the small lake on the grounds isn't for swimming.

Potsdam

Around four kilometres away, Potsdam and Park Sanssouci; the palaces and gardens easily fill a rainy day when there is little to do outside.
