Nature camping directly on the Urft on the edge of the northern Eifel
A meadow on the Urft, below an old water mill in Sötenich near Kall. Sheep graze in front, the river rushes behind the fence. There are no sanitary facilities; campers must be self-sufficient. In return, you're right on the water, with a fire pit and a bar for cold drinks. The fifth stage of the Eifelsteig runs right past, and it's just a few kilometers to the Urfttalsperre. In the evening, the water remains flowing over the rocks from the day.1

Urft Reservoir
The dam holds back the Urft to form the Urftsee, with a path around the shore. When the water is high, boats cross the lake.
NS Ordensburg Vogelsang
The former Nazi training complex above the Urftsee is now a documentation site with views into the Eifel National Park. History for a rainy day.
Kommern Open-Air Museum
Old Eifel farms, bakehouses and fields on a large site. The classic day out with kids among timber framing and grazing livestock.
