Nature Camp by the Lake on Rügen
A parking spot on an excavation lake near Zirkow, right in the middle of Rügen, in the valley of a former gravel pit. Access is via a narrow sandy path that becomes increasingly overgrown until the camper reaches the water's edge. Dragonflies hover over the water. From time to time someone glides past on water skis, pulled by the tow rope system on the lake. The spot is in a secluded location, with a beach volleyball field right next to it. The Baltic Sea resorts of Binz and Göhren are just a few minutes' drive away, as is the neoclassical town of Putbus.1

The largest resort on Rügen, with a long pier and white spa architecture along the Prorer Wiek. The go-to spot for a day on the fine-sand beach.
Putbus
A classicist white residence town with a round Circus and an old theatre. A quiet afternoon among pale facades when the beaches get crowded.
