Short break very close to Hamburg
A parking spot in the hosts' garden in Appel, designed for travelers passing through and short stops. The A1 is nearby, with Nordheide beginning beyond it. Children have a large trampoline and a sandbox. In the evening, the fire bowl is lit. It's about 29 kilometers to Hamburg, and roughly half an hour to Lüneburger Heide. No big program, more of a place for the night between two stages. In the morning, the smell of cold smoke still hangs over the lawn.1
What Hinterland writes
„We offer in our beautiful garden a small place for transients or even short vacationers.
Directly on the A1 between Buxtehude and Buchholz in the Nordheide. Only 30 minutes to Hamburg, Bremen and the beautiful Lüneburger Heide. There is much to discover.“

Sights in the area1
Elbphilharmonie & HafenCity
The glass concert hall above the harbour, plus HafenCity's new quays; the viewing plaza is free to enter and the go-to spot on a rainy day in Hamburg.
Außenalster
The large lake in the middle of Hamburg, ringed by a wide waterside path; sailors and rowers share the water, and on mild days the benches fill up all around.
Altes Land
Germany's largest continuous fruit-growing region, just beyond Buxtehude; in spring the cherry blossom turns the dyke roads into white avenues.
Lüneburger Heide
The wide heath south of the city, about half an hour away; in August it blooms purple and can be crossed by bike or horse-drawn carriage.
